December was a fun month for our group, starting with a trip on December 1 to the Southern Supreme Fruitcake factory/store in Bear Creek. (Could be a tradition in the making, but next time we’ll know the way! But on the other hand, getting lost has been a fun part of our trips!)
On Saturday, December 13, we ate together at Silvia’s, then headed to the coliseum for a holiday concert. Took some time following the meal to brainstorm activities for 2015. Stay tuned!
We also packed Christmas treat bags for Kingswood shut-ins — many thanks to those in the congregation who delivered these treats. We hear many comments about how appreciated those visits are!
As the new year begins, we encourage others to join us for lots of laughter and great fellowship – plus some opportunities to expand our abilities, our outreach and our faith.
Monday, January 26 at 10:00 – Our theme for this fun event is “Yes, I Can!” We’ll start by recognizing Darle Shouse, who is a wonderful example of being open to possibilities at every age and stage in life. Then we’ll laugh our way through our very own version of an “Indoor Senior Olympics” with EASY but fun activities. Lunch will be provided – just bring a love offering to cover the cost.
LOOKING AHEAD: The SKY Group is planning a spring mini-bazaar to raise money for future trips and outreach. Watch for details!! – Jo Hunter & Mame Verdinek.
